My latest article went live on macromedia.com today. This article explains the process of creating multiple instances with ColdFusion MX 6.1 Enterprise and configuring multiple instances to both Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and Apache using virtual hosts. I outline a step-by-step process installing ColdFusionMX 6.1, creating new instances of JRun, deploying ColdFusion to the new instances, and configuring each new instance to the external web server.
Great step-by-step article...cheers.
However, what would be the disadvantage of NOT copy/pasting the CFID folder, but RATHER creating a virtual directory to the CFIDE folder to: {JRun4Path}\servers\cfusion01\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\CFIDE ?
How would I use Flash remoting in a JRUN coldfusion clustered enviroment, using multiple instances of Coldfusion? I am refering to your article "Installing and Configuring ColdFusion MX 6.1 Multiple Instances with IIS and Apache Virtual Hosts" under Creating Multiple Instances of ColdFusion, step 12. Thank you in advance.
The article is pretty good and I used it as a base to create multiple instances on Linux. However, the article doesn't contain anything on how to ensure that each instance is started at boot-time in a Linux environment. This information would be extremely useful.
Does each instance need a separate CF license?
