My 2005 C6 Corvette
After nearly 20 years of dreaming of owning a Corvette I finally am the proud owner of the sixth generation Vette. I picked up my 2005 C6 in Atlantic City on Jan 12th. The car is an amazing example of technology and performance forged together in a beautifully engineered automobile. I remember having pictures of Corvettes on my wall as a child and always dreaming of owning one, for the last several years it is the only car that I have thought of. After reading the reviews on the sixth generation Vette I had high expectations, and to be honest after taking delivery of mine I was blown away. Before you even drive it you will notice how comfortable the car is and the technology that is integrated. With 400HP and a 0-60 time of around 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 186mph it will get you where you want to go quickly and the DVD navigation system will make sure you get to your destination.
After a lot of consideration I decided on Millenium Yellow for the color and decided on the options that I wanted. I originally planned on ordering it but Kerbeck Chevrolet ended up having the exact car that I wanted with the options I was looking for along with a good discount.
Here are the options I ended up with:
- 1SB Package - Premium Option Package: Highlighted options above and beyond standard features (Auto-dimming inside and driverside outside rearview mirrors, Head-Up Display (HUD), Heated driver and passenger seats, Memory package with two driver settings, Power telescopic steering column with manual tilt)
- 6-speed manual transmission
- Z51 Performance Package: Specific shocks and springs designed for more control, Larger stabilizer bars, Larger, cross-drilled brake rotors (340 mm front/330 mm rear) and track-tuned linings, Engine oil, power steering and transmission coolers, Specific higher-grip Goodyear EMT (F1 Supercar) tires with asymmetrical tread patterns, Specific six-speed manual transmission with quicker gearing
- Navigation System with GPS and DVD Map: 6.5-inch TFT EGA color touch-screen display, Screen folds down for CD and DVD map access, Voice recognition, Turn-by-turn arrows displayed on Head-Up Display
- XM Satellite Radio
- 5-spoke polished aluminum wheel
- Removable transparent roof
After getting it home on Thursday I was able to drive it Friday and Saturday then we recieved 10 inches of snow on Sunday night so it is nestled in the garage waiting for a nice day. It will make for a long winter but it will be worth it. As I spend more time driving the car I will blog the experience as I have time.

A few weekends ago my buddy and I took a few pictures with my 05 Corvette and his 05 Mustang GT Convertible. You can check them out here

I was watching the Daytona 500 today and thought that the pace car looked awful familiar. It looked a lot like the car sitting in my garage :-)
A very close to stock Millenium Yello Corvette paced the race this year. You can check out the pictures here at the debut with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
